ZTE to launch Android phone Blade

ZTE, a China based Corporation plans a big push in smartphone market in 2011. Its strategy largely centers around Android, Google mobile OS. ZTE is also planning to launch its devices costing very low.

The Company unveiled its latest smartphone Skate in Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. This Android phone comes with a large 4.3 inch bright display screen and a 5 megapixel camera.

ZTE sold 90 million devices globally in 2010, including 65 million handsets, but mostly sold unbranded through operators like Vodafone Group PLC who customizes them before selling.


According to research of IDC, a market research firm, ZTE has become world’s fifth largest handset maker based on shipment volume. This research shows that ZTE beat Sony Ericsson.
